Magnetic Rowing Machines Review
Simply put, magnetic rowing machines are rowing machines employing the use of strong magnets which acts as the machine’s resistance system. At the heart of every rowing machine lies its resistance system. This is the system that makes or breaks a machine brand’s success; it is the technology on which the brand is made of. Magnetic resistance is adjustable manually and actually provides a smoother rowing experience than air resistance rowing machines.
Magnetic resistance is also easily adjustable as compared to air and water resistance. This is the pride of magnetic resistance, being able to better customize a person’s training workout. Magnetic resistance are also very reliable and efficient. It also operates very smoothly and quietly, just like with air resistance.
Indoor rowers using
the magnetic resistance system cannot be folded due to its strong
magnets. They are therefore not light and compact which makes it a
little unsuitable for home use and more for commercial purposes.
Magnetic resistance offers the best range of movement in a rowing
machine, although it is a bit heavier to use than the other resistance
forms. It requires you to balance your movement evenly, which are
actually preferred among rehabilitative clinics and athletes.
Rowing machines that employ the use of magnetic resistance are also very sturdy; it is good for heavy, long term use. Indoor rowers which have a magnetic resistance system normally offer you the most levels of resistance. This is done through magnetic pressure directly being applied to the user’s strokes, so it actually increases resistance based on the force of each pull stroke.
Brands which offer magnetic resistance on their indoor rowers include
- York
- Carl Lewis
- Pro Style
- LifeSpan among others.
Indoor rower models that use the magnetic resistance system include the
- York 3000
- Carl Lewis ROMf51
- Style Fitness 207
- LifeSpan RW1000, among others.
These companies utilized magnetic resistance largely due to their target markets which include therapeutic or rehabilitative patients.
There are some customers who prefer not to choose magnetic resistance on their rowers. Some of their complains include the heavy feel when using the equipment, some technical malfunctioning due to the magnetic force applied on the rower, including in the LCD displays.
Not all these problems are attributable to magnetic resistance, how the machine was made or where it came from still play a major role on an indoor rowers success. Fact is, magnetic resistance still is one of the best and most used resistance type in the market today.
